Procedures
Cargo Tracking Notes (CTN)
In accordance with the Nigerian Federal Executive Council’s
decision of December 9th 2009, every shipment to Nigeria has
to be covered by a CTN issued at the loading port as from January
11th 2010 (B/L date).
The shipper
or his forwarders should complete the Excel document (download
with button at top of this page) and send by email in its electronic
format to AfricaCTN USA, the local representative for control.
Fill in required information only, DO NOT alter format of the
Excel Document.
The
CTN must always be issued upon shipment at the loading ports
– regularization (issue of the certificate) at destination
will not be possible.
At destination, Nigerian
Ports Authority or its representative will inspect each and
every shipment on the existence of a corresponding CTN.

After control, the validated CTN will be issued and released
only against payment of following charges:
Tariff
€50/20’ Container
€100/40’ Container
RoRo / per vehicle
€50 if <5 MT
€100 if >5 MT
Conventional, Breakbulk, or LCL
€5 W/M
Min €50 per CTN
*invoice is subject to admin fees, banking fees, currency adjustment fees, etc. when applicable
AfricaCTN USA will mail the certificates by regular mail in
the USA. If quicker routing is required, shipper or their representative
will provide the name and account number of their courier.
